Reading Report #2

For this reading report, please reflect on the quality and usefulness of the reading you have done for the past 3 weeks. Consider this: how has your reading helped make you a better student, citizen, or thinker? Refer to two or three of the texts (print or electronic) that you have read and explain how they helped you grow as a person.

well im my caes i dont normally read alot , so reading for me gives my brain a chance to a exercise a little. reading also getto me also enligtens my thoughts about other things as well. when ever i have had a good long reading time later on i feel like i read better in a scence. i dont know how but i feel like reading more and i seem to read quicker as well. in my harry potter book most of the words aren't a big challenge but they are still fun to read. i also think about the story line for awhile and get a visual in my head about it.

I like to read but with all of my homework and after school activities I haven't gotten to for a while. But I am reading a lot of magazines like one called "Equus" which is a horse magazine. There was a really cool artical in it called "Size Matters" which was about how the size of a horse can determine how much they are worth and what there abilities are. Like this one horse named Big Ben, who was 17.3 hands, could jump atleast 6 feet and his price was around $15,000. I also read an article online about 500 new endangered animals and plants. It was really surprising how many animals are going extinct. The last thing that I have been reading is the third Harry Potter book which I talked about last time but I haven't gotten a chance to finish it yet. I think that reading has helped me most in life by showing me how far I can spread my imagination. Also whats new in the world.

I have been reading a interesting book to me an it is helping me. The book I am reading is Football Coaching For Dummies. NO I AM NOT A DUMMIE! But it is really interesting and helps me push on for my goals to become a coach when I become an adult. Well I'm not sure if it has made me a better student but it has helped my responsibility for myself. I now see how responsible you have to be to become a succsesful coach in life. One Quote it says in the book on how to be responsible is, "Whatever your reasons, you're accepting an enormous responsibility." That is pretty flat out that you have to forget your other plans (except if it is a date) haha. But serioulsy you need to think ahead and plan your plans before the season starts right there and you don't even know it. "Before you step on the field, please be aware that you're taking on a positon that can have far-reaching implications on your players for years to come." That also is self explanatory as well. I have to be a good role model and show them that I am responsible and that I push onto my goal to make them good so the kids can pursue there dream on becoming the best player. So that is what I have been reading and learning from this amaxing book.

reading, for me, is an escape from the world. i love to read because i love to open my mind to new ideas. i haven't really been reading many novels, but i have been reading the secret life of bees. i think that it has helped me think about things more because the story is about a girl who lost her mother and has to move away because her african american maid, made a rude comment to one of the very important white men. it just makes me think about how lucky i am to live in a society that doesn't discriminate against color. i love reading books that make me think. it just makes it more entertaining.

I personally grow up in a family of teachers so reading is a given. My reading as helped me because it has expanded my vocabulary, given me a background of other communities, and an understanding of other cultures. On teen Ink a web site written for teenagers by teenagers gave me information about kids in other countries and states. I also read keeping the moon by Sarah Dessen which explained the life of a girl who has never been accepted. I really love to read and it has helped so much in school and social settingins.

The reading I have been doing the last 3 weeks has been useful because I am reading this book called Confessions of a teen nanny, and it has a lot of different scenarios that other teenage girls could relate to as well. So it has been helping me by applying it to real life. Another thing it could be helping me with is some of the words in it. Sometime I stumble along words I didn’t know, and I figured out what they meant. So if I ever come along one of those words again I will know what it means. Other than that book I haven’t been doing a whole lot of reading besides some magazines and other homework assignments. The other homework reading I have had has helped me learn more than I already knew. But the overall reading has just helped me try higher level thinking outside of school.

I love to read. Books let me get away from reality. Over the past few weeks I read Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer. It is a great novel. This book has helped my vocabulary grow and learn knew things. Also, it has spread my horizon. With these types of books, you get to visualize things your way, because there aren’t any pictures. I love reading novels for this reason and many others. Reading hasn’t always been my favorite thing, but once I found out what type of books I liked, I started reading and now people have to force me to put a book down. Overall, reading has helped me a lot.

I have read the sports page every day, ESPN magizine, and the crawl on ESPN tv show. I guess its not too useful but its intresting. Its made me a better thinker because it makes you wonder how athletes get so good at sports and why they get paid so much money. Its made me a better student by makeing me multitask because you have to pay attention to what the people are saying and reading the scores to other sporting events.

By reading over these past few weeks I have become a better reader which has made me read my homework faster, like my world civ book. After every week I could see that I was making improvement on how fast I could read. This has made me better thinker because now I understand how the english language works and can comprehend more of what I am reading. I have been reading a difficult book called Watership Down and this has helped out my vocabulary tremendously. Also I have read several articles on how drugs effect your brain which made me more knowledgeable.

Reading is fun to me because I like to explore places I normally can't in real life. Recently I have been reading the book in class called Fahrenheit 451. It is very interesting and talks about fire men of the future who burn books because it is illegal to read in that time. I have also been reading a lot about horses. The last thing I have been and still am reading is the 3 rd Harry Potter book. I have decided to start over because I haven't been reading it for a while and I didn't remember anything from it. Reading before a test also has helped me out a lot because it seems to make my brain go into thinking mode. It doesn't even matter if I read about the subject or not I seem to do better on those tests. Clearly, reading is all together a good thing I don't see how reading could ever become illegal. (this is a redo from my last entry).

i read alot every day, mostly text messages but also i read a suvival book every night and in the morning if i cant sleep. this book is very cool and i like it because when i go camping, wich i do alot, i know how to make it more fun and i know what i can eat out of the ground, witch is actually pretty tasty, well most of the time at least. and now i am pretty wel known in my family for being able to ignite a bunch of wet wood on the wet ground after it rained that day.
